Prices of all upstream PV products such as silicon wafers and silicon ingots increased recently, but downstream module prices continued to decline and reached new lows.

Polysilicon prices dropped across the board as of 8 May, according to the latest report from metals market research company Shanghai Metals Market.

On April 12, the Silicon Industry Branch announced the latest solar-grade polysilicon prices, which were between RMB190-200/kg on average, with the lowest price set at RMB180/kg (US$26.2/kg).

On April 6, TCL Zhonghuan announced its latest silicon wafer prices, which saw a general downwards trend despite module prices recovering.

On March 22, the Silicon Industry branch updated the latest silicon price information, which maintained a descending trend.

On 8 March, the Silicon Industry Branch updated the latest information on silicon material prices, which have fallen by as much as 4.8% year-on-year.
